Gemstones and Art Jewellery - Shop @ Emilia's

The use of Gemstones in my recent collections are not merely for aesthetic purposes, these stones have positive energies that can be beneficial to you too.
Here are some information on some of the gemstones used in this collection:

Rose Quartz - It is a stone of unconditional love that opens the heart chakra to all forms of love: self-love, family love, platonic love, and romantic love. The high energy of quartz gives rose quartz the property of enhancing love in virtually any situation. In turn, this lowers stress. All in all it is a very soothing and happy stone.

Green Quartz - It transmutes negative energy to positive without releasing it to the atmosphere. Green Quartz inspires creativity, attracting success, prosperity and abundance. Aids the endocrine glands, helping to keep the body balanced.

Amethyst - Amethysts are recommended to those who deal with stress a lot, such as people with an excessive work ethic who are unable to enjoy relaxation. This quality is also believed useful when treating insomnia too. Amethysts also help those who are prone to depression and an overall melancholy feeling.
Jade [Amazon Jade used] - very good for restoring and maintaining balance: between the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of life. Dispelling negative energies.

Gift Art as Jewellery!

Tonight I want to dedicate this post to my lovely cousins - my sisters

Y and R are my cousins, we grew up together like sisters - like our mothers did.

So I made this necklace for Y, she is currently battling cancer, and she will soon be a cancer survivor :)) She saw my art jewellery and asked for a piece that has a drawing of the 3 of us, and so I eventually made it.

R is the beautiful soul - she may be petite but she is the force behind our strengths. She was the one holding my hands in prayer over my mother's grave, and she was the caregiver in the Emergency room waiting for news on Y.

So I sketched out a portrait of the 3 of us based on a photo, and then shrunk it to size to fit the locket. I coloured it in and poured sealant over it. Hung it on pure Rhodium chains with semi-precious gemstones strung through, I also included a couple of metal leaves on it. I also made the rose out of clay and attached it to the necklace. I think it's a sweet romantic piece, and I hope when Y wears it she remembers us, her sisters and how much we love her :)

Cheers,
E.L.

Public Garden Flea - 5 Nov 2011

We had a lovely time at the flea, and we met many crafty people too!

As promised, here are more random photos from the day -

Titanic Exhibit at the ArtScience Museum -Singapore

I know I know.. I'm supposed to put up more photos of our flea at Public Gardens, but I don't have the photos at the moment... so in the meantime, I'm here to encourage you to go check out the Titanic exhibit at Singapore's ArtScience museum! The exhibit is running from now till 29 April, and I was there on the first day to catch the Dali's exhibit too. The entrance for the Titanic exhibit is about $28 and yes I know it sounds pricey but it is worth it! And I'm not even a huge titanic or ship enthusiast.. The exhibit has loads of info on the history of Titanic and a lot of facts about ship building back then, which was perfect for my boyfriend, and for me, I was swooned by the settings! It almost felt as though they transported us back in time and we actually were on board the ship.

So here are some spoilers, we took some photos

This was the first class hallway to the rooms

When we entered the exhibit they gave us these boarding passes which were exact replicas of the originals, on each pass was a real passenger's name and at the end of the journey we were supposed to find out if our passenger survived. My boyfriend got Thomas Andrews the ship's architect and I got a young English lady, Ellen Hocking.
The famous grand staircase of the ship.

OK I shan't spoil it for you anymore if you're keen to see it!

 Cheers, E.L.

Thank you for coming to the Public Garden Flea

It was a wonderful flea at the F1 Pit building and we would like to say a big thank you for all your support!
It was truly fun and E.L, A.T (the one with gorgeous vintage wear) and I had a great time!

A big thank you to the organizers for doing a fab job, marketing the event and making sure we were all comfortable, both vendors and patrons alike and for selecting us! It was truly an honour to be associated with such an eclectic mix of  vendors and it was so much fun to meet like-minded craftspeople, quirky-item seekers and vintage-wear lovers!

Here is a sneak peak of the day! More pics to come!

Random grass cat that I bought and ironically, brought us good luck!

The frame I made out of doily and nail polish

Table display before E.L and A.T came.  Version one.
All Like it.Make it. Wear it.
